The Qatar News in around 60 Seconds – Tuesday 23rd June 2020

It’s Tuesday 23rd of June, this is the news in 60 seconds

Qatar Airways operates over 270 weekly flights to 45 plus destinations.

The Airline continues to maintain its position as the world’s largest international carrier.

As entry restrictions ease around the world, Qatar Airways is also seeing a rise in its bookings due to strong levels of trust built with passengers. As it took home over 1.8 million people during the crisis, including many left stranded by other airlines.

Qatar Museums is to start reopening museums and heritage sites to the public from July 1st. Which is Wednesday next week.

So we can look forward to visiting The Museum of Islamic Art, Mathaf which is the Arab Museum of modern art. And the Garage Gallery at the Doha Fire Station. Heritage sites include Al Zubarah, Al Jassasiya and Barzan Towers.

The remainder will be opened in phases soon.

And the museum’s gift shops and cafes will also be open to offer limited services. Including the National Museum of Qatar’s gift shop and café which will have limited capacity for lunch and afternoon teas. However the NMoQ’s galleries will remain closed as the museum undergoes maintenance work. But you can have a wander around the outside, and trust me, that in its self well worthy of a visit.

Sidra Medicine Infant Hip Clinic receives more than 350 children in its first year. The clinic diagnoses and treats children with developmental dysplasia of the hip. Or DDH.

DDH is the most common condition in newborn infants, affecting one in 10 firstborn children. DDH is known as a silent condition as it does not cause pain or prevent the child from walking. This means that unless it becomes part of a routine newborn examination, the condition can go undetected.

Now, let’s take a quick look at the numbers for yesterday’s COVID update – Which shows 1,034 new positive cases. 1,637 recoveries and I’m very sad to say, 1 death.

Active cases are now 18,348 meaning a decrease of 604 in the previous 24hrs period.

That’s all for today, please take care, and I’ll see ya tomorrow.
