Education City Stadium to house 2 Qatar Foundation schools after the World Cup. As well as donating half of its 40,000 seating to countries where football is being developed. The Jewel in the Desert which will continue to be a functioning stadium, will repurpose large areas of the building for education. And this is one of the great innovative ideas that helped Qatar win the 2022 World Cup bid. Because they had vision beyond the tournament.

Owners of impounded vehicles have 30 days from today. To pay their fines and collect their vehicles. Or the General Directorate of Traffic say they are going auction them. And judging by this photograph I’m looking at, they’re not going to be very careful with your car either. So probably best you go and pick it up soon.

Qatar and Italy are collaborating to create life saving treatments for sufferers of COVID-19. Using convalescent plasma samples, given by those who have recently recovered from the disease. They are working to identify treatments using antibodies found in the plasma.

Under the motto ‘Humanity Above All’ the Pravasi Co-ordination Committee Qatar – or PCCQ. Are arranging a free-of-cost chartered flight to Kochi. For up to 180 Indians who have found themselves stranded in Qatar,  without the means to get themselves home. The flight is expected to depart from Doha at the end of this month. Well done PCCQ, keep up that great work.

Now, let’s take a quick look at the numbers for yesterday’s COVID update – Which shows 1,026 new positive cases. 1,354 recoveries and I’m very sad to say, 1 death.

Active cases are now 19,631 meaning a decrease of 329 in the previous 24hrs period.
