It’s Monday 15th of June, this is the news in 60 seconds
The big news today, is that today marks the start of the Phase 1 lifting of restrictions. Malls partially reopen, parks partially reopen, clinics partially reopen. But you knew that already because I’ve been announcing it for days.
But here’s some new items for you. From today, you no longer need an entry or exit permit for the Industrial Area.
And as well as the 8 parks announced as opening today, Aspire park are also opening their walking tracks. And Katara Cultural Village has announced that, the North and South Hills promenade will reopened today for walking purposes, as long as you don’t gather and you observe precautionary measures.
To celebrate the completion of the third world cup stadium. There’s going to be special programs on BeIN Sport in Arabic and English later on today. As well as – digitally marking the occasion on social media platforms. The 40,000 seat Education City stadium is expected to host up to Quarter Final matches, during the World Cup in 2022, and is located next to the gorgeous Education City Golf Club.
Ashghal are to start the 2nd and 3rd phases of Doha Central Development and Beautification projects. Including landscaping, bridge building, underpasses and pedestrian plazas. And we’re also going to get electric car charging points.
Let’s take a quick look at the numbers for yesterday’s COVID update – Which shows 1,186 new positive cases. 1,646 recoveries and I’m very sad to say, 3 deaths.
Active cases are now 22,631 meaning a decrease of 463 in the previous 24hrs period.
