The Qatar News in around 60 Seconds – Wednesday 8th July 2020

It’s Wednesday 8th of July, this is the news in 60 seconds

Today marks the 3rd month anniversary of our News in 60 Seconds. The project which was started to help inform during the Covid Crisis, has been a lot of fun for us, and we hope for you also.

However with the Covid Crisis starting wind down, we need to return to what Qatar Quick was originally created for. Giving you great content on places to visit and enjoy while in Qatar.

As such our last ‘News in 60 Seconds’ will be uploaded on Saturday the 8th of August. And the following day, you’ll be able to watch the first in a news series of Qatar Quick Guides.

So back to todays front pages, and we’ll start with the Peninsula

Which headlines; Artworks to add to attractions in Doha and Corniche

Qatar’s economy continues to grow sustainably says the Qatar Ambassador to Germany.

HMC warns against taking supplements without medical advice.

And COVID-19 active cases fall below 6,000

On to the Gulf Times which headlines Public Private Partnership law to enhance government and private sector integration

HMC warns over excessive intake of supplements. It say’s Medical experts have found little – to no benefit from Vitamin C for preventing or treating the common cold or seasonal flu, and there is no evidence that this vitamin prevents or treats COVID-19.

And we end with today’s Qatar Tribune with leads with PPP law to help boost major projects in Qatar.

Contracts signed with Qatari artists to beautify Downtown Doha and Corniche.

Qatar’s economy continues to grow sustainably say Envoy

And HMC warns against excessive intake of supplements.

Here’s a quick run through yesterday’s COVID update – Which shows 600 new positive cases…..  1,005 recoveries and I’m very sad to say, 1 death.

Active cases have now dropped to 5,908 meaning a decrease of 406 in the previous 24hr period.

Alas we now have to revise our prediction. As the graph is now indicating that we should have less than 1,000 active covid-19 cases by July 25th.

That’s all for today, please take care, and I’ll see ya tomorrow.
