The front page of all three English papers this morning headline the Foreign Minister. Who is stating that ‘Political disputes prevail over the needs of GCC people’. And he reaffirms that Qatar is ready to reach a long-term solution to the Gulf Crisis, in a manner that does not infringe on its sovereignty and does not violate international law.
More US Technology companies expected.
The US Chamber of Commerce held a webinar for it’s members last week to discuss investment opportunities and benefits for US companies within Qatar’s Free Zone.
There were more than 85 attendees including household names such as Apple, Boeing and ExxonMobile. In an opening speech they were told that both Microsoft and Google had already set up in the Free Zone, and that they could also benefit from being there, working directly with them and one another.
Qatar obtains approval to establish a barcode office for national products. In a statement the Ministry of Commerce and Industry said that Qatar has obtained the code 630 for locally-made products that can be exported or traded within the country.
The Mall of Qatar defers rent payments for another month. Tenants who have been exempt for the last 3 months, will not have to pay rent for June either.
And the Qatar Voluntary Center say that more than 300 volunteers have been supporting the fight against the pandemic.
Let’s take a quick look at the numbers for yesterday’s COVID update – Which shows 1,700 new positive cases. 1,592 recoveries and unfortunately 2 fatalities.
Active cases are now 24,617 meaning an increase of 106 since yesterday.
