The Qatar News in around 60 Seconds – Sunday 14th June 2020

It’s Sunday 14th of June, this is the news in 60 seconds

Tomorrow will see the partial reopening of Malls, Private Clinics and Parks.

But don’t get too excited, there are many restrictions in place.

Lets start with the Malls. Open Sunday to Thursday, 8am until 8pm. But only the large stores of 300 square meters and above.

50% of parking spaces will be blocked off. And the mall along with the stores that are allowed to operate, must do so at just 30% of their normal capacity. No smoking at entrances, which is a good thing. And no gathering of limousine drivers, which is also a good thing

Face mask must be warn at all times within the mall, and although it doesn’t mention gloves, I would take a pair with you just in case.

No admission for under 12’s or over 60’s. Oh and of course you will have to show a green Ehteraz app, and have your temperature taken as well before entering the building.

Private clinics will be allowed to operate at 40% of their capacity. Appointment durations must be a minimum of 40 minuets and patients can only enter the building 5 minuets before their appointment time. There must be separate waiting rooms for those with raspatory symptoms and those without. Strict physical distancing will be applied at all times. Checking of temperature and Etheraz app for both staff and clients before entry.

Now on to the parks. Which will be able to open from 4am until 9am, and then again from 4pm until 10pm. The parks are for exercise and sports training only. With physical distancing. You will need to have your temperature taken, and show a green Etheraz app to gain entry. You will not be allowed to sit in the park, as it’s for exercise only. No under 12’s will be allowed in.

The eight parks open form tomorrow are; Al Wakrah, Al Khor, Al Qutaifiyah, Al Shamal City Park, Al Sailiya, Al Dafna, Museum Park and Al Rayyan Park.

AstraZeneca to supply Europe with 300 million doses of vaccine. Which instantly gives me hope that the end of the pandemic is near. Until I read down, where it say’s that they still don’t know if it’s going to work, and that’s something they won’t know until the end of summer. But if it does work. Then that’s going to be absolutely massive.

Let’s take a quick look at the numbers for yesterday’s COVID update – Which shows 1,828 new positive cases. 1,956 recoveries and I’m very happy to say, no deaths.

Active cases are now 23,094 meaning a decrease of 128 in the previous 24hrs

That’s all for today, please take care, and I’ll see ya tomorrow.
