The Qatar News in around 60 Seconds – Friday 19th June 2020

It’s Friday 19th of June, this is the news in 60 seconds

Qatar Airways to resume flights to the US from today. The carrier will operate 39 weekly flights to six gateways in the US. That will then connect to hundreds of US cities, through its partnerships with American Airlines and Jet Blue.

Friday Dhuhr prayers will not be held in mosques today, says AWQAF. The ministry said that worshipers can perform the Dhuhr prayer at home. And the rest of the prayers will be held on time at mosques that are now open.

The Ministry of Public Health has implemented an inspection campaign at health facilities operating in the Industrial Area. They visited 65 health facilities including three general medical complexes, 14 company clinics and 48 first-aid units. Following which they issued a total 81 warmings and violations.

And they weren’t the only ones carrying out inspections. Doha Municipality carried out a total of 126 visits to food establishments. That resulted in issuing notices to 13 shops. Eight of which were closed for a period of three to seven days. While four others were closed for 30 days for employing workers without health certificates. Hang on a moment 8 plus 4 equals 12. What did the 13th shop get.

And on that note, l.et’s take a quick look at the numbers for yesterday’s COVID update – Which shows 1,267 new positive cases. 1,470 recoveries and I’m very sad to say, 4 deaths.

Active cases are now 20,713 meaning a decrease of 207 in the previous 24hrs period.

That’s all for today, please take care, and I’ll see ya tomorrow.
